Silent Struggles

Dear Grief

Age 37, Female
Author: Alexandra Chrysosferiis
English Poem

Thank you for visiting me in the pure stillness of the night, your threads of anguish weave a pattern in my soul.

You, grief – powerful, disguised as darkness, leaving delicate imprints on even the bravest hearts.

A deeper truth – You may wear cloaks of sorrow, but you remind me that there’s an incomprehensible beauty in pain.

You evoke such overwhelming emotions and a sense of nostalgia – the cherished memories, the deep, profound connections – it’s what bonds us!

Thank you, grief, for reminding me that our memories are our greatest treasures. As long as we don’t get trapped in them, we should still enjoy the rawness of life – even just for the night.

Oh, Grief – while you sit with me, please be good to me. Please leave in the morning, so I may start a fresh day – filled with new opportunities. Don’t worry, you can visit from time to time. But I’m sorry, you can’t live here.

So, after your presence has touched my soul, and you’ve claimed every last tear, be sure to close the door on your way out. And I’ll be sure to save you a drink….for the next time we meet.
