Pin-Chieh has worked in a range of mental health settings in both Taiwan and the United States. In the U.S., she worked as a psychotherapist at HopeSprings Counseling Services, primarily with children and adolescents, and received additional clinical training at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Parc Provence Memory Care, and Doorways Interfaith AIDS Housing and Services. In Taiwan, she has worked in university mental health services, community counseling centers, clinics, and long-term care settings, working extensively with international university students, children and adolescents, adults from diverse stages of life, and caregivers of older adults.

Her work is primarily grounded in psychoanalytic and psychodynamic approaches. Beyond immediate concerns or symptoms, she is interested in how past and present experiences, internal conflicts, and recurring patterns shape the ways a person experiences themselves and relates to others. She also pays close attention to the influence of family, culture, language, and social context.

In her work with couples and families, Pin-Chieh brings a systemic perspective, attending to patterns of interaction and the broader relational context rather than locating difficulties solely within one person. Other approaches are integrated when appropriate to each client’s needs.

In therapy, Pin-Chieh values authentic connection and thoughtful inquiry, working with clients to explore emotional experiences and give voice to what may feel vague, conflicting, or difficult to put into words. Therapy moves at a rhythm that is focused at times, yet spacious at others—deep in reflection, without feeling heavy or overwhelming. Over time, rigid patterns begin to soften, making room for new possibilities to unfold.
