Moving abroad can be exciting, empowering, and full of possibility, but it can also come with emotional challenges that are often difficult to talk about. On Wednesday, June 17, Talent Taiwan and the Community Services Center
will co-host High-Functioning, Still Struggling: Mental Health of Moving Abroad, a free all-female event created for international and expat women in Taiwan.
The evening will explore the emotional realities of relocation and adjustment, including culture shock, loneliness, identity shifts, and the pressure many people feel to appear “fine” while navigating major life transitions. Led by the Center’s licensed Clinical Psychologist Changling Tu, the session will approach these experiences through a trauma-informed and emotionally attuned lens, helping participants better understand the nervous system’s response to change and transition.
In addition to the discussion, the event is designed to foster meaningful connection among women from Taiwan’s international community. Participants will have the opportunity to meet others navigating similar experiences, reflect in a supportive environment, and walk away with practical insights and emotional tools for supporting themselves through periods of change.
